The Chase on ITV: Bradley Walsh brags he’s from Hertfordshire as contestant accuses him of being a Cockney – My London
There’s nothing wrong with London.
And there’s certainly nothing wrong with the Cockney accent.
Bradley Walsh, host of ITV’s The Chase, seemed to take offence at when he was called a Cockney on Wednesday evening’s (November 18) show, however.
Translator Rebecca, who specialises in the German language, made the remark to Chaser Jenny Ryan after a successful cash-builder.

Jenny asked whether Rebecca could do some translation work for her – hoping she could decipher what Bradley was nattering on about.
Rebecca immediately fired back: “I don’t do the Cockney.”
Her mouth falling open in delight, and exclaimed: “Ouch!”
Bradley pretended to be insulted and proceeded to correct Rebecca, pointing out he wasn’t Cockney in the slightest, having been raised outside London.
“l’ll have you know I’m from Hertfordshire. I’m from Watford in Hertfordshire,” the host said.
“In actual fact [i’m from] Leavesden. Do you know where Leavesden is? The Harry Potter Film Studios.”

Putting on a posh accent, he added: “I’m actually a jet engineer don’t you know, not just a Cockney.”
Taking the comment back, Rebecca said: “Apologies.”
Proving there were no hard feelings, as quick as a flash, Bradley replied: “Accepted.””
A few moments later, Bradley put on a Cockney accent and said: “Come on then sweetheart let’s have a chat with the others.”
Rebecca previously said she was hoping to win enough money to fund a trip to the Grand Canyon.
She went on to secure £5,000.
The Chase continues on ITV every week day from 5pm.
