Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for London – The London Free Press
Better grab your umbrellas, London.
Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm warning just after 12:40 p.m. for London, Parkhill and Eastern Middlesex County.
The national weather agency said meteorologists are tracking a storm cell capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel-sized hail and heavy rain.
Thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon over parts of Southwestern Ontario. Some of the storms could produce wind gusts up to 90 km/h.
Additional thunderstorms could hit this evening and into the night as well.
Heavy downpours are capable of causing flash floods and water pooling on roads. Environment Canada reminds everyone to take cover if they hear thunder outside.
