Her father, Prince Andrew, is thought to be cancelling his lease at the four-bedroom apartment his two daughters share on the ground of St James’ Palace.
The Duke of York pays the Queen £20,000 in annual rent for the property, which must be paid as they are not working royals.
It is a generous discount, as similar-size properties in the area can fetch up to eight times as much.
In 2008, Princes Eugenie and Princess Beatrice refurbished their shared apartment with £250,000 of taxpayers’ money.

Despite it boasting two reception rooms and state-of-the-art kitchen, a royal official described the apartment as a “small set of attic rooms”.
Earlier this year, Princess Eugenie and her fiancé Jack Brooksbank upgraded and moved into the three-bedroom, two-storey Ivy Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace.
Now the Duke of York is thought to no longer pay for the flat at St James’ Palace, it leaves Princess Beatrice, who lives in New York, without a place in the UK to call her own.
However, Prince Andrew does have a 30-bedroom Royal Lodge mansion on the Windsor royal estate if the eighth-in-line does need a place to stay when she visits from across the pond.

A spokeswoman from St James’ Palace told Express.co.uk that she could not comment on the financial arrangements for the Duke of York.
Princess Beatrice recently turned 30 and is not considered a “working royal” and has a career outside of the palace as the vice president of partnerships and strategy at US-based company Afiniti.
