The condition of the injured person has not been revealed at this stage, however the Standard have contacted British Transport Police (BTP) for further information.

The person’s gender and age also remains unclear.

One traveller wrote on social media that her “thoughts” were with the person.

She wrote: “Oh god just left Shortlands and stuck at Bromley because after we left a handful of people on the platform one of them has just jumped in front of a train. So sad, our thoughts are with them and their loved ones.”
