Meat lovers were lined up down the blocked off section of Wellington Street on Friday afternoon to taste the prized ribs of barbecue vendors.

Trophies of past barbecue competitions glimmered in the sunlight, enticing Ribfest-goers to buy ribs, chicken and other meats at their stands.
The smell of sauce getting slathered on a fresh rack of ribs fills the air and floats across the park.
A few steps away from the meat madness is the London Craft Beer festival. Visitors lined up to sample different craft beers from around the region while enjoying their ribs.
Tex Robert Jr. has been cooking ribs for such a long time that he said he is known as the Grand Daddy of Ribbing. He was serving up ribs for Louisiana Bar-B-Que on Friday.
“It’s been a great Ribfest,” he said. “Everyone is enjoying themselves.”
Robert Jr. was born in Louisiana and raised in Texas. He said he has been coming to London’s Ribfest for many years.
“London is a great place to come to,” he said.
Although ribs are a big theme at the event, there are non-meat activities to enjoy as well. There are plenty of midway rides for kids and families, carnival games and craft vendors. Plus, there are more food carts with goodies like ice cream, popcorn, lemonade and beaver tails.
Visitors can also enjoy different musical artists like D.J.s and bands throughout the weekend.
Ribfest runs until 9 p.m. Monday.
