London teens charged with manslaughter in 2017 stabbing death – The London Free Press

Charges against a pair of teenagers have been upgraded to manslaughter in connection with the 2017 stabbing death of a 43-year-old London man, police announced Tuesday.

Raymond Beaver was stabbed to death in his east London home at 1 Lansdowne Ave. shortly before midnight on Oct. 2. Four people were charged with first-degree murder.

Two teenagers, ages 15 and 16, were charged with one count each of breaking and entering. Tuesday, the charges against those youths were amended to include manslaughter.

The names of the accused teenagers cannot be published under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. They were to appear in court Tuesday, police said.

In the days after the homicide, The Free Press reported that one of the four adults charged with first-degree murder, Melissa George, is the niece of Beaver. Her boyfriend, Daniel Cavanagh, is also charged. Also charged with first-degree murder are Nicholas George, 18, and Peter Townsend, 20.
