Harrow Road live: Updates after man stabbed to death at Kensal Green cemetery – MyLondon



A man has been stabbed to death at a cemetery in West London, with reports of a large police presence at the scene.

Witnesses reported seeing armed police on Harrow Road at Kensal Green Cemetery.

Officers have cordoned off part of the cemetery as they investigate the scene near Kensal Green station.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said officers were called at 2pm to reports of the stabbing.

Theys said: “Officers, London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance attended and found a man suffering from stab injuries.

“Despite the efforts of emergency services he was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Enquiries are ongoing to trace his next of kin.”

A 50-year-old man has been arrested and in in police custody, the Met said.

A witness said: “Something happened at Kensal Rise cemetery. Armed police are patrolling the area.”

Another witness told MyLondon: “There are about four police cars and they’ve taped off the cemetery.

“I tried to get a picture but the police hurried me off – now there’s a helicopter circling.”

Multiple reports suggest people are not being let in or out the cemetery.
