Denmark Hill live: Major South London road closed after man climbs onto roof of building – MyLondon
A man has climbed onto the roof of a building in South London, sparking a large emergency services response.
Denmark Hill in Camberwell has been closed by Metropolitan Police officers as they deal with the situation.
London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade are also at the scene.
Emergency services were called shortly after 3pm on Thursday (November 26) and officers are “engaging with the man”, according to the Met Police.
A police helicopter has also been deployed.
Denmark Hill is a major road which runs through Camberwell and Herne Hill.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called to Denmark Hill shortly after 3pm after a man climbed onto the roof of a building.
“Officers are on the scene with LFB and LAS.
“The police helicopter is providing assistance. We’re engaging with the man in an effort to bring this incident to a safe conclusion.”
