Cyclist taken to hospital after collision with lorry in Bethnal Green – My London



A cyclist was seriously injured after her bicycle was involved in a collisiion with a lorry in East London.

The 23-year-old was taken to hospital after the incident on Cambridge Heath Road, Bethnal Green on Friday (October 23).

Emergency services were called to the junction with Hackney Road at just before 3pm.

The injured woman is in a stable condition and her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A Met Police spokesman said: “Police on routine patrol were notified at 14:49hrs on Friday, October 23 of a collision between a lorry and cyclist on Cambridge Heath Road at the junction with Hackney Road.

“Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended.

“The 23-year-old cyclist was taken to an east London hospital for treatment to serious injuries.”

The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene. There have been no arrests.

Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating and are appealing for witnesses.

They would like to speak with anyone who saw the collision, or who may have captured it on dash cams.
