Corunna man sought in axe attack – The London Free Press
Sarnia police have made two arrests in a July 19 axe attack that left a 29-year-old man with life-threatening injuries.
Police said warrant has been issued for a third suspect in the attack said to have taken place in a motel room in the 1600 block of London Road.
It’s alleged two men and a woman tricked the victim into opening the door of the motel room he and a 22-year-old woman were in.
Once inside, the two men began to strike him with an axe and a metal rod. The woman was in the room with the victim was not injured.
Police said the suspects are alleged to have left with property belonging to the victims. The man injured in the attack has since recovered enough to leave hospital, police said.
Police said a 21-year-old woman from Sarnia was arrested July 25 and faces charges that include break and entering, robbery, possession of a weapon, aggravated assault and possession of a controlled substance.
A second suspect, a 33-year-old man, was arrested Monday and also faces several charges.
Police said both were held for a bail hearing.
The third suspect sought on a warrant has been identified by police as Kevin Martin Simpson, 32, of Corunna.
