Break-and-enter thieves target Fleming Drive – The London Free Press

Police are warning students to keep the doors to their homes locked at all times after a string of break-and-enters was reported between Aug. 14-19 on Fleming Drive.

The suspects were able to enter residences because they were left unlocked.

The majority of the crimes took place between 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. “through unlocked doors or windows,” London police said in a statement Tuesday.

Items were reportedly stolen from five of the eight break-and-enters, police added.

Keep your doors and windows locked at all times, even when you’re home, authorities warned.

Police used analytical software to detect the pattern at work in the crimes. The mapping software can be viewed at this link:  https://communitycrimemap.com/?address=London,ON

Fleming Drive was the site of a riot on St. Patrick’s Day in 2012. A large party quickly got out of hand, with crowds burning a TV news truck and pelting police with beer bottles during the booze-fuelled gathering that left the Forest City with an international black eye.
