A40 closed: Public asked to avoid area due to police incident at Paddington Flyover – My London



A large section of a key West London road has been closed off by emergency services due to became concerned about the welfare of a man.

The Paddington flyover section of Westway (A40), part of the Harrow Road and the Travis Perkins roundabout are shut on Tuesday afternoon (October 20).

Police are warning people to avoid the area.

Roads towards Paddington station are also closed.

At this point the A40 crosses over Edgware Road.

Traffic in the surrounding areas have been affected by the closure, with the police warning of a ‘”significant” disruption.

Police and London Ambulance Service (LAS) paramedics are on the scene.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police and LAS on scene concerned for the welfare of a man on the Paddington flyover on the A40.

“Harrow Road is closed in both directions. Please avoid the area where possible. Significant traffic disruption is expected.”
